Birth of Joshua

Joshua asked me why the doctors had to cut open my stomach when he was born.  This is what I said:  "The doctors told me that I had a parasite growing in my tummy and it wasn't coming out, so they had to cut me open.  They pulled out this bundle of black ooze and said, 'Mrs. Fernandes, you must nurse the baby so the parasite will leave the host.'  So for months, I nursed the black ooze until one day, all the black ooze was gone except for the black patch on your head.  But the doctors warned me that one day the parasite might come back and then you will become Venom."

Cinderella

Yesterday we went to Keira's 2nd Birthday party.  The Haleys live on the westside, which is about 25 minutes away.  The drive almost lulled Cammie to sleep even though it was only 10 a.m.

"Don't fall asleep, Cammie, or you will miss the birthday party,"  I told him.  He perked up instantly, "Are they going to have a Cinderella bouncy castle?  Cinderella is my favorite plincess."  I thought Joshua would totally make fun of Cammie, but he agreed that if he was a girl, he would like Cinderella too.

During the week, he spends a lot of time at Dominique's house and she has two girls who are always dressed up in princess costumes.  At her house, Cammie's favorite dress is the purple princess dress and his favorite doll is the princess with the pink dress.

When we got home from the party, Cammie opened his party favor from Monica (an adorable  piggy bank paint kit).  "I didn't get a plincess,"he whined.

XOXOXO to Mom

Every morning it is a chore to try to get Joshua (and Cameron) out of the house and to school before the gates close.  R.D. White is only 5 minutes away, so it is not like we have to fight through LA traffic to get there.  When we are late (and it has only happened once this school year when it rained), I have to go to the office and get a tardy slip for Joshua.  I was going through old photos and I saw a note that Joshua wrote to me on March 30.  I remember that morning as being particularly hectic because I was working in the classroom.  I told Joshua to get his shoes on and he said he couldn't because he needed to finish writing something.  I was furious.  "Just one more minute," he said.  "Joshua!" I screamed and then he handed me what he was writing:  "XOXOXO to Mom.  Love, Joshua"  Sigh!  Now I have the photo of his note to remind me what a sweet little boy he is.

It's Morning Time

Cameron came to my bed this morning and said, "It's morning time even if you don't want your watch to say it's morning time...it's morning time!"
